Let's dive in!
Announcement from Convey911 CEO Jeff Bruns
I'm thrilled to introduce ConveyConnect+, our groundbreaking hybrid AI language interpretation solution that seamlessly combines the speed of AI with the expertise of our 22,000 certified interpreters. This isn't just another interpretation service; it's a complete reimagining of emergency language services that ensures every 911 call receives real-time, high-quality interpretation tailored to its complexity and urgency.
What makes ConveyConnect+ truly revolutionary is how easy we've made implementation. Customers can be up and running the same day they decide to move forward, without lengthy procurement cycles or complex installations. At Convey911, we believe that when seconds matter in emergency response, agencies shouldn't have to wait months to deploy life-saving communication tools that serve their communities.
🚀 Partner Update: Real-World Performance Metrics
Impressive Interpretation Volume from Our Partners
Our clients continue to demonstrate the significant impact of comprehensive language access solutions. Adcom911, one of our larger partners, logged 60 hours of interpretation time across 650+ calls in June alone. This impressive volume spans seven different languages:
- Haitian Creole
- Korean
- Lingala
- Portuguese (Brazilian)
- Punjabi
- Russian
- Spanish
This data demonstrates the real-world need for multilingual emergency communication services and shows how technology can seamlessly handle high-volume, diverse language requirements.
Quick Facts: Average connection time to a Spanish interpreter over the last 30 days for AdCom911 was 8.39 seconds. In total they completed 701 calls.
New Customer Success: Portsmouth Police Department
We're excited to share feedback from Detective Sergeant Kevin McCarthy of the Portsmouth Police Department Investigative Division, who recently told us: "Very much appreciated, we had our first use today and it was extremely helpful."
This feedback came after an 11-minute Spanish interpretation call with a remarkable 2-second connection time to our live interpreter service. These results highlight how quickly our technology can bridge language barriers in real emergency situations.
Agency Details:
- Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire
- Police Force Size: 22 Officers
- Average Connection Time to an Interpreter: 2 Seconds
- Average Call Length: 12:00 Minutes
📊 Industry Insight: The Critical Need for Language Access
Language diversity in emergency communications continues to grow as our communities become increasingly multilingual. Understanding the scope of this challenge is essential for building truly resilient emergency response systems.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, nearly 68 million people spoke a language other than English at home in 2019, representing more than one in five Americans. This figure has grown significantly over the past four decades, highlighting the critical need for comprehensive language access in emergency services. Source: U.S. Census Bureau
Research published in the Journal of the American Heart Association demonstrates that response time is directly linked to emergency outcomes. Their study found that survival rates after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest decrease as emergency response times increase, emphasizing why removing communication barriers that delay response is so critical. Academic Emergency Medicine research shows that emergency calls with response times under 5 minutes had significantly better survival outcomes compared to those exceeding 5 minutes. Source: Academic Emergency Medicine
These statistics demonstrate why eliminating language barriers isn't just about inclusion—it's about building resilient communities where every resident can access life-saving emergency services without delay, regardless of the language they speak.
🤝 Partnership Spotlight: Streamlining Emergency Tech Access Nationwide
Convey911 Partners with MWCOG to Break Down Procurement Barriers
We're excited to share a major development that will help emergency agencies nationwide access life-saving language translation technology faster than ever before. Our new cooperative purchasing agreement with the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) eliminates the lengthy procurement processes that have historically delayed critical emergency communication upgrades for months or years.
This partnership means that any qualifying public agency can now access our complete suite of emergency communication solutions—including ConveyCommunicator, Text-to-911, ConveyConnect, and Prizym—using pre-negotiated terms from a competitively bid RFP without conducting their own extensive bid process.
Why This Matters:
- Reduces implementation timelines from months to weeks
- Provides pre-negotiated competitive pricing for public agencies
- Eliminates procurement barriers that delay life-saving technology
- Serves agencies nationwide through MWCOG's cooperative purchasing program
"We consistently hear from agencies that want to implement our solutions but face months or even years of procurement delays," said CEO Jeff Bruns. "This cooperative agreement eliminates those barriers, allowing agencies to focus on what matters most; serving their communities."
The agreement covers our full technology suite and builds on our successful regional deployments, where agencies have seen dramatic improvements in response times and service accessibility for diverse populations.

💬 Client Success Story: Eastern Shore Maryland Regional Implementation
All nine counties across Maryland's Eastern Shore have successfully implemented ConveyCommunicator and ConveyConnect to eliminate language barriers in emergency response. Led by the Dorchester County Sheriff's Communications Division and funded by the Maryland 911 Board, this regional collaboration demonstrates how communities can work together to build resilience through better communication.
The implementation provides:
- Immediate translation capabilities for 185+ languages
- Both AI technology and human interpreter access
- Mobile app support for first responders in the field
- Seamless integration with existing emergency systems
"The language services provided by Convey have allowed us to provide faster, more reliable, and higher quality language translation, which has allowed us to provide a higher level of service to the residents and visitors," states Sgt. Robbie Larimer, manager of the Dorchester Sheriff's Communication Division.
This regional approach shows how communities can pool resources and coordinate implementation to ensure comprehensive language access across entire regions, strengthening emergency response capabilities for all residents and visitors.
❓ Your Questions Answered
Q: How quickly can your system connect callers to live interpreters?
A: Our ConveyConnect service typically connects callers to live interpreters in under 10 seconds. Recent real-world examples include a 2-second connection time, which is not uncommon, for a Spanish interpretation call at Portsmouth Police Department. This rapid connection is critical during emergencies when every second counts.
Q: What languages do your clients most commonly need?
A: Based on recent data from our clients, the most frequently requested languages include Spanish, Haitian Creole, Korean, Lingala, Portuguese (Brazilian), Punjabi, and Russian. However, our platform supports 185+ languages to ensure comprehensive coverage for diverse communities.
Q: Can smaller agencies afford enterprise-level language access solutions?
A: Yes! Our new cooperative purchasing agreement with MWCOG provides pre-negotiated pricing that makes our solutions accessible to agencies of all sizes. Our seat license unit pricing model allows for costs to scale up and down with the size of the agency. Additionally, regional collaborations like the Eastern Shore Maryland implementation show how communities can share costs while ensuring comprehensive coverage.
Q: How does your technology integrate with existing emergency communication systems?
A: Our solutions are designed to enhance, not replace, existing infrastructure. Our platform integrates seamlessly with existing emergency communication systems, including ASL, allowing agencies to add multilingual capabilities without disrupting established workflows or requiring extensive retraining.
